The Under -19 Championship of Uefa Women 2024 is being held in Lithuania, spanning a period of two weeks. Remarkably, this marks the second occasion of the Republic of Ireland’s participation in the finals, demonstrating the recent advancements in Irish women’s football. However, the passing days haven’t been easy due to the challenging group they’ve been placed in. The Irish women’s team will compete against previous winners, Spain, on Monday; next up is Germany, the team that was runner up in the last final, on Thursday, and finally, on Sunday, they face the team Spain vanquished during the semi-finals, the Netherlands. The tournament will run from July 14th-27th and can be viewed on uefa.tv.
Hurling
The All-Ireland senior hurling final last saw Cork and Clare face each other in 2013 during the replayed final, a match that was ultimately claimed by Clare. Shane O’Donnell, part of the winning team, was renowned for his score of 3-3 that day whereas Patrick Horgan gained recognition for scoring 19 points across the draw and replay. Women’s T20 cricket will see England and New Zealand go head to head from 5.45pm on both BBC 2 and Sky Sports Cricket. The line-up for Thursday 18th July starts early with The Open on Sky Sports Golf from 6.30am-9pm. England faces the West Indies in the 2nd Test at 10am, broadcasting on Sky Sports Cricket. Meanwhile, 18th stage Tour de France will be aired on Eurosport 1, ITV4 and TG4 between 11.50am and 5.30pm. The Stage 19 of Tour de France will be aired on Eurosport 1 from 11am to 4.15pm, ITV4 from 11.15am to 4pm, and TG4 from 11.05am to 4.20pm. Sky Sports F1 will begin broadcasting the Hungarian Grand Prix practice at noon. The U20 World Cup Rugby matches include the third-place play-off at 3.30pm and the final at 6pm, being streamed from Cape Town on RugbyPass. For July 20th, an international rugby match between New Zealand and Fiji will begin at 3.30am, followed by Australia vs Georgia match at 6.45am on Sky Sports Action. Sky Sports Golf will cover The Open from 9am-8pm. From 10am, a boxing bout between Tokyo Junto Nakatani and Vincent Astrolabio will be broadcast on Sky Sports Action. The second test match, D3, between England and West Indies will begin streaming on Sky Sports Cricket from 10.15am. Sky Sports F1 schedules the Hungarian Grand Prix practice and qualifying at 11.15am. Stage 20 of Tour de France will be broadcast on Eurosport 1 from noon to 5pm, ITV4 from 12.30pm to 4.45pm, and TG4 from 12.25pm to 5pm. The London Diamond League athletics will be on the air on BBC 1 from 1.15pm to 5pm and on Virgin Media Two from 2pm to 4pm.
