Bruce Springsteen enthralled his audience at the final leg of his four-show tour in Ireland, which took place at Croke Park on May 19th Sunday. The E Street Band and him, throughout their three previous performances, impressed and amazed their fans in equal proportions.
It seems as though it’s been forever since he put up a phenomenal show at Boucher Playing Fields, Belfast, something our critic termed as an “immense concert”.
At the damp Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork, on Thursday night, Springsteen started the show with a rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Who’ll Stop The Rain’, which got the audience of over 40,000 emotional, and ended the performance with a cover of The Pogues’ ‘Rainy Night in Soho’, in honour of Shane MacGowan who recently passed away. Throughout the concert, he performed several songs suggested by fans holding placards, including ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’.
The previous Sunday evening at Nowlan Park, Kilkenny, included a heartfelt performance of ‘A Rainy Night in Soho’ by Springsteen, which some fans labelled as an evening full of “real warmth and emotional performance” and “amazing and unbelievable night”.
Bruce Springsteen in Croke Park stirred a lot of emotion, offering an experience full of warmth and nostalgia to his fans. His touching tribute to the late Shane MacGowan in Kilkenny was lauded by his fans as a phenomenal night.
Along with all this, he also visited familiar locations in Dublin.
