“Young Man Critically Attacked in Dublin”

An incident of late-night violence in Dublin has left a young individual in a critically severe state. In addition, another individual suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The incident involved a group of attackers targeting the two men in Clondalkin, around 10.15pm on Saturday night. Both victims, originally from eastern Europe and now in their late twenties, were assaulted after they alighted from a bus in Grange View Way. No arrests have been made yet, thus prompting an appeal from gardaí for witnesses.

Claims by Wolfgang Benz drew attention to the methods reminiscent of Germany’s past being employed to incite suspicions against another minority group, the Muslims.

The investigators believe the victims had used bus transport to reach a house in Grange View Way and were followed by a group of males. The aggressive group assaulted the two men as soon as they alighted from the bus. The scenario escalated to the point where one man was repeatedly kicked and punched, leaving him incapacitated on the ground with grave head injuries. The victim continues to be in a dire state in Tallaght Hospital.

The site of the incident has been cordoned off for technical examination as investigators make efforts to establish a motive for the assault. It is believed that the victims may have had previous encounters with the attackers earlier that evening.

Gardaí have expressed their keen interest to engage with witnesses who might have been in the bus with the victims or were in the vicinity at the time. The Garda made a statement expressing interest in talking to anyone who happened to be in certain specific areas of Clondalkin during particular time slots.

Moreover, Gardaí have requested for any camera footage including dashcam material from road users to assist in their investigation. Information pertaining to the incident can be conveyed to Clondalkin Garda station, the Garda Confidential Line or indeed any Garda station.
