Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré offroad pics: dethroning the BMW R1200GS

These fantastic pics show the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré in live testing from the guys at Motoblog.
it.
They took it for some soft-offroading to test out where its real character lies – off the road.
Both on and off the road the Super Ténéré proved to have great chassis and be very well balanced.

Some of its agility was compromised in more difficult offroad situations but over long stretches on un-asphalted surfaces it goes like a dream.
The truly amazing thing about this latest legend from Yamaha is that it can make anyone feel like an offroad rider with its easy riding style, perfect balance and front-rear harmony.
To really have some fun you can take it out of the Touring mode and switch off the ABS (to see how to disable the Super Ténéré ABS see our video) and you’re ready for some truly silly entertainment.
Clearly the XT1200Z Super Ténéré is not a purist offroad bike but it’s not designed to be.
The verdict is, though, that its offroad capabilities could make it even better than the so-far undisputed king of the jungle, the BMW R1200GS.

That’s a very big claim and one we can’t test for ourselves but if you get a chance to ride this thing in the dirt, you’re in for a good time.
