Yamaha Racing programming the future

While in World Superbikes, Yamaha Racing has changed all it’s riders from 2008 onwards (Corser-Haga, Spies-Sykes, Crutchlow-Toseland and in 2011 Melandri-Laverty) in MotoGP, Yamaha is looking for stability.
After signing Jorge Lorenzo for two years, Lin Jarvis is looking to keep Ben Spies under the Yamaha marque, at least for the 2012 season, which will finally see the switch back to the 1000cc MotoGP machines.

Spies will be in the factory team partnering Jorge Lorenzo in 2011 and is on the second year of his contract, and after winning this year’s MotoGP Rookie of the Year title, is already in negotations to extend his contract for the 2012 season with an option for 2013.
Whatever the future holds for Spies, Elbowz is going to be in MotoGP for a long time, because if Yamaha doesn’t keep him, you can be sure that there will be line ups beating a path to Mary Spies’ front door.
