Yamaha R1 leader in Europe

The Yamaha R1 is conquering most competitions in Europe, as our friends from Motoblog tell us after an analysis of current standings shows it to be a protagonist.
Not to take away from the teams of mechanics, riders and other professionals involved, the R1 is proving itself to be a radically innovative machine, with its crossplane crankshaft engine.

In the spotlight with his Yamaha R1 is obviously Ben Spies from World Superbike, with an incredible nine poles out of ten and the most victories this season, standing at 11.
But the R1 is currently the leader in six out of eight Superbike championships in Italy, and is at the top of the World Endurance 2009 championship, without forgetting the victory at the 24-hour Le Mans in April.
