WSS: Sofuoglu takes breathtaking Silverstone win over Lowes

Reigning World Champion Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki MAHI Racing Team India) took an impressive win at today’s WSS race in Silverstone after a spectacular battle with championship leader Sam Lowes (Yamaha Yakhnich Motorsport).
The pair quickly got away from the rest of the guys and spent most of the race studying each other, until they finally unleashed their fury in the last couple of laps.

Half way through the last lap, Lowes seemed to have found the right move to finish off the battle, but Sofuoglu tried his luck again at a very slow corner, finding the space and touching Lowes.
The Brit fell down, but thanks to the low speed he managed to keep the clutch pulled and then was super quick to jump back on his Yamaha YZF-R6 and get back on the track, actually a very cool move that eventually earned him a much valued second place, which basically means 20 points in the bag instead of an otherwise pretty disappointing ‘zero’.
Frenchman Fabien Foret (MAHI Racing Team India) managed to clinch the last spot on the podium winning the sprint against Kev Coghlan (Kawasaki DMC-Lorenzini Team) and ParkinGo MV Agusta Corse’s pair Christian Iddon and Roberto Rolfo.

Jack Kennedy (Rivamoto), Florian Marino (Kawasaki Intermoto Ponyexpres), Michael Vd Mark (Pata Honda World Supersport) and Vladimir Leonov (Yakhnich Motorsport) completed today’s Top 10.
