Leon Haslam with his Alstare Suzuki was on top of the (unofficial) test times at on day one of two days of testing at the Valencia circuit.
Pocket Rocket did 75 laps posting a best time of 1.

Second Suzuki rider Sylvain Guintoli was only ninth and behind Aprilia’s test rider Alex Hofmann with a best lap of 1.

Max Biaggi was second fastest after completing 72 laps on the Aprilia RSV4 1.

Biaggi’s team mate Leon Camier did 82 laps with a best time of 1.
35”8, the same times as test rider Alex Hofmann (66 laps).
James Toseland on his second outing with Yamaha posted a best time of 1.
34”8 making him third, despite suffering a low side crash during the morning session, while his team mate Cal Crutchlow ended the day fifth fastest spending most of the first day adjusting the R1 to suit his size.
Jonathan Rea also suffered a fall aboard his Ten Kate Honda this afternoon but was able to finish fourth fastest with a best time 1′34″9, much better than new team mate Max Neukirchner whose best time was 1′35″8.
There was also a KTM prototype bike at Valencia that will be racing in the IDM Championship (German Superbike) with Martin Bauer riding the Dunlop shod bike.
Testing will continue tomorrow.
