WSBK Test Phillip Island: Max Biaggi fastest, again

Day 2 of World Superbike testing at Phillip Island was lucky and for once didn’t see any rain, with World Champion Max Biaggi taking the top of the charts again, however Leon Camier and Yamaha riders, Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri were much closer, just 5 tenths of second separated the the three riders from Biaggi’s best lap.

Biaggi riding his Aprilia with gold coloured #1 on the livery did at total of 56 laps with a best time of 1′32″3, while team mate Leon Camier despite being third fastest, crashed out in the afternoon session.
Camier ended up with bruising on his left ankle and needed a bike rebuild.
After returning to track, the hapless Brit was hit by a seagull on his right arm, that caused swelling, and decided it was time to call it a day.
Yamaha continued to work on the 2011 version of their R1, and both Laverty and Melandri were able to pick up their pace and improve from yesterday’s test session, however Melandri crashed out in the morning session at Lukey Heights and cut the middle finger of his left hand.

Testing will continue tomorrow.
