WSBK Silverstone: Cal Crutchlow Dominates QP1

Cal Crutchlow took over the British domination from Jonathan Rea in the first qualifying practice at Silverstone.
The Brit was able to put down a best lap of 2′05″664 and the only rider to go under 2.
05 mark several times and that put him in the top spot for the provisional pole, leaving free practice leader Jonathan Rea in second and behind with 0.

342s gap.
BMW’s Troy Corser headed up in third and he was a mere 0.
012s from the Honda Ten Kate rider.
Leon Camier continued his good form on his home turf with a fourth place on his Aprilia RSV4, out pacing his team mate Max Biaggi, who managed to climb up the charts from 18th to 7th.
The fifth spot was taken by Ducati’s Michel Fabrizio and he was less than one tenth of a second from Rea.
James Toseland and Leon Haslam despite being faster in this session, dropped down from their previous positions in the first free practice to take 6th and 8th respectively.
Ninth went to Carlos Checa, with Tom Sykes closing out the top ten and the last rider within a second from Crutchlow’s best time.
