The World Superbike weekend at Miller Motorsports Park got underway on Friday on four wheels not the usual two, with the first ever MMP Celebrity Mega Kart Race, and thanks to Honda Europe Racing and Jonathan Rea we can show you a part of the event.
The race saw 15 teams, each one made up of a World Superbike or AMA rider, a member of the media, a representative of the Armed Forces and a fan who won a competition organized locally for the event compete in race.
The race consisted of each rider completing five laps, with the aggregate best times of each team member making up the standings, and the win going to the team that lapped the quickest and Troy Corser’s team (Corser, Rick Aaron, a correspondent with the local Fox television affiliate, racing fan Kellen Birch, and soldier Ryan Whitehouse) took the first win.
Runner up was Team Paris, with AMA Pro Racing’s Melissa Paris and Team Checa took third, other WSBK riders included Max Biaggi, Leon Haslam,Tom Sykes and Eugene Laverty.
AMA riders included Josh Hayes, Roger Lee and Tommy Hayden, Ben Bostrom, Larry Pegram and Elena Myers, and also taking part were Scott Russell, Greg Miller and Paolo Ciabatti.
