The comprehensive timetable for the 2025 season of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association has been unveiled, revealing that the women’s All-Ireland football finals are set to occur at Dublin’s iconic Croke Park on the August Bank Holiday weekend as usual. The intercounty season will commence with the National League’s initial weekend on the 19th of January and will reach its climax with the All-Ireland finals on August 3rd.
For some time, the All-Ireland camogie finals have been scheduled before the women’s football finals. However, the adjustments made to the fixtures during the Covid pandemic and the GAA’s split season have reshaped the Gaelic games calendar.
In the preceding year, the women’s finals took place on August 4th and were followed by the camogie contests the subsequent weekend. The sequence of finals for the four major codes in the following year will mirror this year, with the All-Ireland senior hurling culmination set for Sunday, July 20th at Croke Park. The football event will follow this on Sunday, July 27th.
As for the ladies’ finals, spanning junior, intermediate and senior categories, they will come to fruition on Sunday, August 3rd. The camogie finals will subsequently bring the 2025 intercounty season to a close.
The Croke Park venue will be taken over by performances by Oasis on August 16th and 17th. Consequently, the only slots prior to these events are August 9th and 10th. In the event of a need for replays for any of the women’s football finals, they are slatted to happen on August 16th and 17th. However, this means Croke Park won’t host these matches.
Last year’s Brendan Martin Cup saw Kerry claim its first All-Ireland senior victory since 1993 with a 3-14 to 0-11 win against Galway. Kerry player Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh, who is considered one of the game’s most talented players, managed to secure her All-Ireland medal.
Starting the women’s intercounty season will be the Lidl National Football League on Sunday, January 19th. The Division One and Two league finals will occur at Croke Park on Saturday, April 12th.
The curtain for the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Championships will rise on Sunday, the 1st of June, kicking off the junior and intermediate battles. The senior league will get underway on Saturday, the 7th of June, while the All-Ireland semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday, the 19th of July.
The year’s climax, the finals of the 2025 women’s All-Ireland intermediate and senior club championship, is scheduled to unfold at Croke Park on Saturday, the 15th of December.
