Woman Tortured in Dublin Drug Dispute

A female was erroneously accused of drug theft and subsequently abducted and tormented in a Dublin apartment. Gardaí discovered various tools heated by a blowtorch, such as hammers, that had been used to inflict pain on her. She had been deceitfully led to the property.

A man who was released prematurely from jail the previous day is being considered in connection with the case. Gardaí are investigating if there’s a connection between this assault and a similar case of another woman being tortured from a few years back in Dublin.

Veteran investigators have been left astounded by the severity of the violence exposed in the property off Bolton Street in Dublin’s northern inner city. It has been labelled as ‘unspeakable’ and ‘unprecedented’ by Garda sources.

The female victim, in her 30s, was freed from the flat following an operation by gardaí at around 7pm targeted at individuals involved in inner city and northern Dublin drug dealing rings. The operation resulted in the capture of eight people – seven adult males and one under-aged male.

Upon gaining entry to the apartment, the gardaí were taken aback to uncover a severely injured and distressed woman and the eight accused. Two of the suspects are related as father and son.

The woman was falsely implicated for the disappearance of the drugs, deceived and trapped in the flat, which was part of a larger complex. She was detained and subjected to brutality and torment via heated items. Indications suggest that some of her hair was extracted as well.

Currently, police have not connected a sexual motive to the assault. However, the act is being perceived as a severe form of drug-related intimidation, leaving the female victim with a series of injuries such as burns and fractures.

The woman was rushed to Mater Hospital where she received treatment and has been continuously supported by both hospital staff and the police. Though her injuries aren’t fatal, the prolonged, violent assault may require her to have surgery for some of the injuries sustained.

Unexpectedly, the site of the attack was found and immediately cordoned off for forensic investigation. Several articles were retrieved from the scene by the police, including weapons thought to have been used in the attack, for deeper scrutiny.

While there has been no official statement from the police pertaining to the level of violence in the incident, they have initiated an inquiry into an alleged incident of false imprisonment. Eight individuals have been apprehended by police based at Bridewell station.

The police stated in response to inquiries that, “The eight males, aged ranging from their 20s to 50s and one minor, are currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.”

The suspects are currently in custody across four Dublin police stations, with their detainment periods extended on Friday, effectively allowing for further questioning without any charges until early hours of Saturday.
