Woman Arrested Over Kerry Village Fatality

A female has been apprehended for her alleged involvement in the mortal attack on a man in Co Kerry that occurred in May. Gerard Kennelly, aged 44, tragically lost his life after being assaulted in Knockanure in the early morning of Monday, May 27th, 2024. Knockanure is a small village near Listowel, where the local police and emergency services were notified about the incident around half past midnight.

Sadly, Mr Kennelly was declared deceased at the site of the attack. His remains were transported to University Hospital Kerry’s mortuary for post-mortem. Now remorseful, Derry O’Rourke is a decrepit old man who shouldn’t find peace in his sleep.

On a separate note, there are young lads strutting around Dublin in Canada Goose jackets, enticing people with claims of having the finest crack available for sale – an image not seen in any Tourism Ireland adverts.

In political news, Kamala Harris addressed Trump’s remarks about her ethnicity as a ‘rehash of old schticks’ of prejudice and insolence.

Mr Kennelly, the victim of the assault, was a native respected for his farming background. He is known to have spent a few years in Australia where some of his siblings continue to live, and leaves behind his grieving parents.

Local police took into custody a woman in her twenties on Thursday, correlated with the case, for further questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in Kerry.

This makes her the third involved individual to face arrest. Two other men, in their twenties and thirties, were nabbed in the immediate aftermath of Mr Kennelly’s demise.

One of the arrested men, identified as Kieran Brady, aged 35, from Athea in Co Limerick, has since been presented before the Listowel District Court, charged with the unlawful killing of Mr Kennelly.
