Woman, 60s, Dies Swimming in Dublin

A lady in her sixties sadly lost her life following complications while swimming off the northern coast of county Dublin on Monday afternoon. Alerted shortly after three in the afternoon, emergency services discovered the lady unresponsive in the water at Portmarnock Strand, with the information from the Coast Guard. Subsequently, she was transported to Beaumont Hospital where her death was confirmed. The police were informed, subsequently notifying the coroner. It is expected that a postmortem examination will be carried out, as stated by the police on Monday evening.
