Dear Sir,
Despite tourism being a global industry supporting 300 million jobs worldwide, it appears its immense economic importance is not being upheld by all nations. Take our Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport, and Media for instance – who seems to be more occupied with the ongoing RTÉ situation rather than the tourism sector. Is enough being done to sufficiently support Irish tourism in a world where there are copious well-funded competitors at each turn? Yours faithfully,
John Loughran,
Proprietor and Managing Director,
Sandymount Hotel,
Dublin 4.
