The ongoing search for a 20-year-old man identified as Brandon Roche, who went missing in Wexford Quay waters on Sunday, will proceed on Tuesday. Roche was seen entering the water early Sunday morning and hasn’t been seen since. Speaking to South East Radio, Roche’s family member, Keith Murphy, termed the preceding days as challenging and sought public assistance.
On the approaching days, Murphy said that they plan to conduct searches along the coastline and anyone available to participate would be appreciated. On Monday, a search coordinated by Coast Guard units, the RNLI, Garda water unit and Slaney Search and Rescue, ended without success. As the search efforts resume on Tuesday, the family indicated a need for camera-equipped drones.
On Sunday, the Gardaí commenced an operation searching along the Wexford Bridge and Harbour area for the male believed to have entered the water around 2 am that day. The RNLI and Coast Guard were quick to respond and began searching the area.
A Dublin-based Coast Guard Rescue 116 helicopter also searched the nearby harbour, Ferrcarrig and Raven Point. Early Sunday, around 2.05 am, the Coast Guard received an alert about an individual reportedly having entered the waters in Wexford town, with different units, including the gardaí, dispatched to the scene.
