Welcome the New and Bid Farewell to the Old

Dear Sir,

I find myself puzzled over how the persistent ringing of what was once deemed an absolute inconvenience (“Not my turn, I dealt with it previously”) transformed into the omnipresent item we know today. The spectrum of users ranges from toddlers in strollers to elder gentlemen at pub bars, digital natives, new parents, and the older generation, each armed and ready with the gadget akin to cowboys with their pistols in western films.

Please note, this correspondence was not dispatched from my antique Nokia handset.

Yours sincerely,

Anne Marie Kennedy,
Craughwell,
Co Galway.
