WDW 2012: the special bikes of the Ducati Garage Contest

Among the various initiatives of the World Ducati Week 2012 there was also the Ducati Garage Contest, a competition between some brilliant customizations based on Ducati models that the public of the WDW had to vote in order to elect the ‘best one’.
These models were displayed in a special booth located in the ‘Bike Art Galaxy’ area, and all the attendants could just go there, take photographs, ask about their origins and all to thers makers themeself before choosing their favorite and cast their vote.

Inside the pavilion of the Ducati Garage Contest we found three Diavel: one developed by Italy’s Hell Cat with captivating red-black custom graphics, a white-black one made by ronowned Italian specialist Rizoma, and a rather sober ‘all-black’ one from Switzerland with a slew of light alloy bits.
Very interesting is also the SS1000 tht came all the way from the United States and was renamed 1170RS, with the engine capacity boosted to 1170 cc, top-notch components and an overall weight of 137 kg.
Then we find the Hyper-Evo-TS, that is a Multistrada 1000 with a modified chassis and the engine of the 1098 S as well as a number of various goodies such as pressurized forks and ventilated discs, plus more carbon and titanium bits.

To complete the line up of the contendants we there were the Dutch Monster R-16, based on S4RS; the Greek TRUE, based on the Monster S4; and the Italian Old Speed (based on the glorious Scrambler of the 70s); ‘42′ (based on the Sport Classic), ‘2nd Girlfriend’ (based on the Hypermotard ) and ‘Charlie’ (based on the SS900).
