The organization of the World Ducati Week 2012 certainly did not overlook the glorious past of the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer.
In Misano there was a dedicated zone called ‘Heritage Galaxy’ where they had set up two areas whose aim was precisely to emphasize the long history of Ducati: the Historical Zone, where production bikes and racers from different eras were on display to the delight of the public, and the Scrambler World, an area devoted exclusively to historic single-cylinder model from the 60s/70s.
We will talk about both these areas soon, but the motorcycle housed in these two areas were not the only examples of ‘vintage’ Ducatis at the event in Misano Adriatico as many Ducati fans flocked to the WDW bringing their own ‘most valuable pieces’, and we must admit that in some cases they were proper jewels.
Among other things, very appropriately, the parking officers made sure that many of these bikes were diverted into a restricted area close to the ‘Historic Zone’, so that everyone could appreciate the historic value of these motorcycles.
We present a roundup of ‘classic’ and ’special’ Ducati models that our pals from Motoblog.
it have found running around the paddock of the WDW.
Maybe not all the bikes pictured in this photo gallery made the trip to Misano on their own – menaing that it’s likely that some one has arrived in town on a comfortable trailer or soemthing – but their presence at the event was more than welcome.
Whether it’s abaout an old fighter like the 851 or some newer creations like the GT1000, we think there are just a few Ducati enthusiasts who would be able to recognize them all.
