Warrant for Ex-Leinster’s Elsom

Reports from French media reveal that an international arrest warrant has been distributed for Rocky Elsom, former captain of Australia’s rugby team and ex-Leinster player. Elsom’s actions during his presidency at French club Narbonne in 2015 and 2016 have drawn legal scrutiny. The 41-year-old was recently convicted of forgery, use of forgery, and misappropriation of company assets by a court in Narbonne, according to AFP and L’Equipe, as well as other sources.

Elsom, a robust blindside flanker, made 75 appearances for Australia, including leading the Wallabies as a captain from 2009 until just before the World Cup of 2011. In the year 2008-2009, Elsom played a crucial role in Leinster’s Heineken Cup victory, helping them clinch their first title. He participated in 21 out of 23 matches in that season, which included nine at the European level.
