Vitalograph, Based in Clare, Acquires American Associate

Vitalograph, a family-owned respiratory device manufacturer based in Clare, has purchased its American partner Morgan Scientific in an arrangement projected to be worth up to $12 million (€10.8 million). Founded by Dietmar and Margaret Garbe in 1963 in the UK, Vitalograph has set roots in Clare since 1974, where its main offices are located.

David Garbe’s enterprise serves globally as a supplier of respiratory diagnostic instruments and clinical drug trial amenities. The long-lasting partnership with Morgan Scientific has been strengthened by this transaction, which expands Vitalograph’s trade presence in the United States and allows it to cater to the increasing global necessity for its goods, particularly in conducting sophisticated lung function tests.

Frank Keane, the chief executive of Vitalograph, expressed his satisfaction about their “lengthy and fruitful bonding” with Morgan Scientific. He added, “This deal is the logical advancement for both firms, since our joint knowledge empowers us to concentrate on offering the finest diagnostic tools that can facilitate a superior comprehension of lung health.”

Although the precise worth of the arrangement was not revealed, business insiders suggest it could reach as high as €12 million.

Specialising in customer-interactive software for advanced pulmonary function test (PFT) systems, Morgan Scientific’s prime software, ComPAS2, propels Vitalograph’s gamut of superior PFT merchandise known as the VitaloPFT Series. Furthermore, Morgan Scientific serves as a crucial distributor for Vitalograph’s lung function test solutions in the US.

Keane said that the recent launching of the VitaloPFT Series allowed them to gain valuable teamwork experience and foster mutual respect for their individual skills. He stated, “Morgan Scientific naturally enhances the Vitalograph brand, and this expansion brings immense value to our clientele worldwide. This purchase sets the foundation for us to evolve our comprehensive PFT range further.”

Morgan Scientific’s president, Gareth Morgan, has revealed his belief that only Vitalograph can preserve the company’s innovative spirit and continue prioritising customer needs. By joining forces with Vitalograph, a globally recognised company, Morgan Scientific will be able to focus on what it does best, namely, delivering exceptional innovation and customer service.

Vitalograph’s purchase of Morgan Scientific has been seen as a significant step in its mission to expand its global respiratory diagnostics business. Through this acquisition, Vitalograph aims to offer the most comprehensive respiratory health testing solutions. This move aligns with their growth strategy, with plans to triple the size of their respiratory diagnostics business by 2026.

The acquisition aligns with the 50th anniversary of Vitalograph’s establishment and expansion within Ennis.
