Valentino Rossi becomes Bridgestone consultant

Everyone remembers the 2007 season when everyone got soundly trounced by Casey Stoner and all the talk about tires, with Valentino Rossi demanding and obtaining the switch to Bridgestone tires on which he then went on to win two back-to-back championship titles, now the nine times World Champion has signed an agreement with the Japanese manufacturer to become their consultant to promote the “passion for motorcycling for users and enthusiasts all over Europe.

Rossi will be evaluating the performance of the tires, especially in the sportbike, racing and sport touring sectors (Ducati is not involved nor are his other sponsors).
Valentino Rossi is a great ambassador for our Group,” said Takashi Tomioka, Senior VP of sales and marketing for Bridgestone Europe.
“Thanks to the suggestions of the greatest motorcycle racer of all time, we can ensure the best new Battlax tires for road bikes.
Bridgestone entered MotoGP as a tire manufacturer in 2002, taking a podium the following season, and two with Honda in 2004.
After extending its collaboration with a larger number of teams, they won their first world title with Ducati and Casey Stoner in 2007 and in 2008 with Rossi and then became the sole tire supplier for MotoGP in 2009.
