USA’s Super Over Victory Against Pakistan

In an exciting turn of events at the T20 World Cup in Dallas, the USA managed to claim a sensational win over Pakistan during an electrifying super over. Post their respective turns of batting, both teams had a tie on 159 at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, where USA outperformed Pakistan to secure consecutive tournament victories. In the super over, the USA scored 18 for one, thanks to Aaron Jones’s score of 11 before his run out and an additional seven runs from extras. Iftikhar Ahmed of Pakistan scored five in their super over before being caught near the boundary by Nitish Kumar. Saurabh Netravalkar, the USA bowler, then limited Pakistan to 13 for one. During their regular batting session, Pakistan, driven by Babar Azam’s two sixes in his 44 off 43 balls, managed a modest initial phase then reached 159 for seven. The USA looked set to win as they achieved 104 for one in the 14th over, led by skipper Monank Patel’s 50 off 38 balls and Andries Gous’s score of 35. After Patel’s dismissal in the 15th over, however, it took two sixes from Jones and Kumar in the final throws to facilitate a draw, leading to the super over. The teams next compete against India in New York, with Pakistan playing on Sunday and USA on the following Wednesday. Canada faces Ireland in their second game in New York on Friday before moving on to play against the USA and Pakistan in Florida.
