Celebrity Millennium, two passengers tested positive for Covid: safety protocols
The Celebrity Millennium set sail on Saturday 5 June and, according to the company, had embarked in full compliance with the controls and guidelines issued by the US Centers for Disease and Control (CDC).
For this reason, each passenger had to show a certificate of vaccination, together with a negative Covid test carried out within 72 hours of boarding, before being allowed to board the ship and depart for the Caribbean. There are 500 passengers on the Celebrity Millennium, of whom around 95 per cent were almost fully vaccinated. The children, on the other hand, had to show a negative Covid test, as they were unable to access the American vaccination campaign.
Regarding the medical condition of the two SARS-CoV-2 patients, no further details have been released at the moment about the positive passengers, and it is unclear whether or not they had been vaccinated against the virus.
Celebrity Millennium, two passengers tested positive for Covid: testimony of Stewart Chiron
In relation to what happened on board the Celebrity Millennium, based on information reported by NBC 6 South Florida, it appears that the cruise expert Stewart Chiron, who is also on board the ship, explained that the two infected passengers had contact with seven other people who were immediately quarantined in their cabins. Meanwhile, the results of molecular swabs taken from the seven passengers are awaited.
Regarding the incident and the course of the cruise despite the pandemic threat, Chironha also admitted: “It was normal: you would think, well, if people were worried, you would see fewer people dining around the ship, but the show goes on. The various dinners and restaurants go on. No one is wearing masks, so it seems like no one is too worried.”
