The American cybersecurity company, Proofpoint, has recently inaugurated a new office in County Cork, with the intention of generating over 150 additional jobs by next year’s end. Being headquartered in California, the company accommodates a staff of over 4,500 across the globe. The Cork establishment is projected to act as an international headquarters, incorporating active recruitment as well as constant investment in the area.

Aside from the US, Proofpoint has a worldwide presence including the UK and Northern Ireland, providing major corporations assistance in combating specific threats, securing their data, and improving their fortification against cyber breaches.

The company aims to initially assign key business functions to the Cork base, such as engineering, customer support, and finance, meanwhile expecting a staff total of 250 by 2025. They have already filled 100 of these positions.
