“Upon the threshold of the spring equinox”

Dear Editor,
As the herald of spring approached, I devoted myself to sowing seeds, entranced by the melody of a blackbird nestled in a neighbouring shrub. However, I’m well aware that once I place these seeds and leave my kitchen garden, this seemingly innocent bird, with his delightful chirp, will swoop down for a peck.
Faithfully yours,
Anne Marie Kennedy,
Craughwell,
County Galway.
