Umbria Farmhouse: Torre Colombaia

Even though Easter is now far behind us, I’m sure you‘ll love to know there’s a place down in Umbria where you can chill out, eat well and enjoy the beauty of Mother nature.
I‘m talking about Torre Colombaia a farmhouse in San Biagio della Valle not far from Perugia.

To speak the truth it’s an agro-ecological farm on the edge of a very old wood, entirely managed by a group of Benedectine friars who have owned the place for centuries.
I bet you’ll be taken aback by its beauty, by the purity of its landscape: open fields, green meadows, old oaks and unpolluted ponds.
The farmhouse is surrounded by several acres of oak woods.
In the old days it was a hunting ground but today pheasants, hares and wild geese live and breed there with no risk of being killed.
You can even spy on them from the small huts by the pond and if you want, a guide will show you around by bicycle or on foot.
