“Ukraine Destroys Kursk Bridge with Western Rockets”

Moscow has pointed the finger at Ukraine for utilising rockets of western origin, believed to be made in the USA, known as HIMARS, to obliterate a bridge across the Seym River in Kursk. Tragically, the attack claimed the lives of volunteers involved in aiding civilians escape.

The Kursk region faced an assault for the first time by potentially American-made HIMARS rocket launchers, stated Maria Zakharova last Friday evening, who is the representative for the foreign ministry in Russia, through a text on Telegram.

Due to the strike on the Seym River bridge situated in the Glushkovo district, it experienced complete destruction leading to the unfortunate demise of volunteers who were aiding the exiting civilians, added Zakharova.

Last Friday, Chief of the Army in Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported advancement of Ukrainian forces by 1-3 km in various areas of Kursk, retro 11 days from when they advanced into Russia.

He added that since August 6th, Kyiv claims to have seized authority over 82 settlements covering an area of 1,150 square km in the Kursk region. Reuters hasn’t been able to independently corroborate the battlefield accounts of either party involved.

Western support for Ukraine’s first aggression on Russian soil has been criticized by Russia, adding that this ‘terrorist invasion’ from Kyiv wouldn’t alter the war’s trajectory. Washington has voiced its stance that it wouldn’t let Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, triumph in the war initiated in February 2022. Therefore it perceives Ukraine’s surprising offensive as a vindication for employing American armaments, as per Washington officials. – Reuters report.
