According to a survey reported by Skynews, six million dogs are overweight in Britain as a result of government lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus. The lockdown has not only affected people’s waistlines. Our four-legged friends are also suffering a few extra pounds on the scales.

Two-thirds of dog owners surveyed admitted to ‘spoiling or overfeeding’ their pets during the isolation. In response to this new problem caused by the Covid pandemic in the UK, Chelsea and national team footballer Bethany England has been organising her social media dog Olympics every Friday, an initiative to help the animals get back into shape.
