Andrew Tate, the internet celebrity, was detained in Romania for a full day under a UK warrant, according to his PR agent, who added that the court of appeal in Bucharest must now decide on his extradition.
Tate, along with his brother, Tristan Tate, were arrested late on Monday over sexual assault claims dating back to between 2012 and 2015, allegations that they have entirely refuted, as stated by their PR team. The arrest warrant came from the Westminster magistrates’ court.
Currently residing in Romania, the Tate brothers are awaiting court proceedings relating to allegations of rape, human trafficking, and creating a criminal gang to exploit women sexually, charges which they firmly deny.
The court of appeal in Bucharest was anticipated to decide on Tuesday whether to enact the arrest warrant, the spokesperson further explained.
“This perplexing resurfacing of accusations from a decade ago has left the brothers Tate shocked and gravely worried,” stated the spokesperson. “They absolutely dismiss all charges and express deep dissatisfaction that such severe allegations are being brought back without significant new evidence.”

Tate, a British-American and ex-kickboxer, has acquired a considerable fan base on social media platforms. However, he has previously been banned from several notable platforms for articulating misogynistic views and engaging in hate speech.
