The findings of the investigation into Aoife Johnson’s untimely passing at University Hospital Limerick last year are due to be disclosed by next Monday, according to Bernard Gloster, the leader of the HSE. During a meeting with the Oireachtas Health Committee earlier this week, he asserted that the report, carried out by former Chief Justice Frank Clarke, was both thorough and already being acted upon, stating that it had fully met its objectives.
Aoife Johnston, a teenage girl from Shannon, County Clare, tragically lost her life to meningitis on the 19th of December, 2022. She was initially directed to the excessively crowded ER of UHL, where she was suspected to have sepsis, but alas, the treatment she desperately needed was delayed by over 12 hours.
A probe into her premature passing was conducted by Clarke and concluded two months prior. The Johnston family has, since then, persisted in their demands for complete and immediate public disclosure of the report examining her death.
A continuation of this story will be available later on.
