Tylenol arthritis: the facts

Ingredients
The main drug ingredient in Tylenol Arthritis is acetaminophen. In this product, it is in a dosage of 650 mg per tablet. Acetaminophen dosage for adults should be under 1000 mg per use and under 4000 mg per day.

Important note:

An overdose of acetaminophen can damage the liver. Do not mix acetaminophen and alcohol. Tylenol arthrtis has inactive ingredients of carnauba wax, corn starch, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, powdered cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide, and triacetin. Do not take if you have allergies to any of these ingredients.
Uses
As well as being used for arthritis pain and stiffness, this Tylenol product can be used as a temporary fever reducer. It also works against the common cold, toothaches, headaches and backaches. Muscle pain and menstrual cramps also can be conditions where this Tylenol product is used. It can be used is all instances where normal, non-condition specific Tylenol, would be used.
Acetaminophen overdose

Important note

Medical attention should be sought whether there are symptoms of distress or not. Overdosing on acetaminophen can cause liver functioning problems and liver structural damage.
Directions for use
The directions for use on the packaging indicates that adults must take two of the tablets every eight hours. It should be taken with water. This is a 1,250 mg dosage, 250 mg over the recommended dosing numbers.

The packaging also states not to take more than six per day. The product should not be used over ten days. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole and not chewed or dissolved as per the label dosing recommendations.
