Three individuals have been hospitalised with grave injuries following a motor accident in Co Kilkenny on Thursday evening. The M9 southbound in Co Kilkenny was the location of the incident, which the Gardai attended at around 7.35pm. The accident involved two vehicles and happened between junction 8 and 9 southbound.
Two males in their thirties, the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles, have been transported to a medical facility for critical injuries and are believed to be in a serious state. Similarly, the male driver of the second vehicle, aged in his twenties, is undergoing treatment for significant injuries.
An appeal has been released by the Gardai for any individuals who may have witnessed the event to come forward. Moreover, they seek anyone who was using the M9 in either direction in Kilkenny between 7.00 pm and 8.00pm during the prior evening and who may possess video footage, including from dash cams, to reach out to the investigation team.
