A traffic accident involving a lorry, which took place in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin, has tragically led to the death of a female cyclist. The incident, which happened on Wednesday morning, saw emergency personnel and Gardaí congregating at the collision scene at the point of conjunction between Glenageary Road Upper, Mountown Road Lower, and Kill Avenue in Dún Laoghaire. Reportedly, the lorry-bicycle crash happened around 8am. The casualty, a woman in her 20s, was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries, a statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed. Presently, the road remains cordoned off while Forensic Collision Investigators probe into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Current plans have also factored in local detour routes.
In a separate incident, a man in his forties lost his life following a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a lorry in County Cork. The tragic event took place in Toureenfineen, County Cork, shortly prior 8am on Wednesday morning. According to Gardaí, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries. No other casualties have been reported as of now. The deceased’s body will be transported to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
