Two individuals have been apprehended and are currently detained at a police station within Co Louth, related to an alleged involvement in a shooting and a supposed assault at a private residence close to Dundalk just the previous evening.
Three individuals were harmed in the incident which transpired at half-past eight on Friday evening. Out of these, two are males in their 20s and the third is a male in his 50s. The younger duo was transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital located in Drogheda, following injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening in nature. The older man, however, did not necessitate treatment at the hospital.
The two under detention are males, each in their 20s. One among these arrestees is in custody under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act from 1939, whereas the other individual is held as per Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984.
Investigations in this matter continue to be underway.
