Two individuals have been taken into custody following the discovery of an estimated €2.4 million worth of cannabis in County Meath. This discovery happened on a Tuesday subsequent to a collective operation led by intelligence, which was executed by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) co-jointly with Revenue’s Customs Service.
Around 120kg of herbal cannabis, estimated to be worth €2.4 million, was confiscated by revenue officials. As per a Garda representative, the seized narcotics will be transported to Forensic Science Ireland for a detailed investigation, while other inquiries continue in progress.
The arrested duo, both in their 50s, are presently held under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 within a Garda facility in Meath.
