“Twelve Hurt in Qatar-Ireland Flight Turbulence”

A flight from Doha, Qatar to Ireland was subjected to turbulence, resulting in injuries to 12 individuals, split equally between passengers and crew members. The Qatar Airways flight completed its journey as planned, landing at Dublin Airport just before 1pm on Sunday.

The aircraft was greeted by emergency services, made up of Airport Police and the Fire and Rescue department. They were called to look after six passengers and six crew members [12 in total] who reported injuries due to the turbulence experienced whilst flying above Turkey. Support is currently being provided to the passengers and airline personnel by the Dublin Airport team.

This event happens one week following a life loss and multiple injuries on a Singapore Airlines flight that encountered extreme turbulence. The turbulence happened around two hours into the seven-hour flight over Turkey. As per reports, in-flight meals were being distributed and the crew were moving through the cabin.

The passengers described the feeling of the aircraft appearing to drop from the sky as they gripped their seats tightly. Despite the incident, the flight was not directed to land immediately and continued the journey, suggesting no immediate life-threatening injuries.

A similar event happened the previous week involving a Singapore Airlines flight experiencing turbulence above Thailand — in that incident, one passenger succumbed and 30 others were injured. This required an immediate landing in Bangkok.

A British man aged 73 was the individual who passed away in the Singapore Airlines turbulence incident. It is believed he suffered a heart attack. Other passengers on that flight reportedly had bone and spinal cord injuries.
