“Truck Fire Delays Dublin-Belfast Motorway”

A vehicle fire on the M1 motorway in northern Co Dublin has led to significant traffic holdups. Photos disseminated by Dublin Fire Brigade demonstrated a charred truck and a completely shut off portion of the route for the use of emergency personnel. On Monday afternoon, Dublin Fire Brigade notified via social media that they were addressing the fire, while cautioning about possible traffic disruptions on the M1, the primary motorway linking Dublin with Belfast on the east side.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) also advised of potential traffic snags between Junction 4 at Donabate and Junction 5 at Balbriggan. The mishap led to a considerable amount of waste from the damaged trailer being dispersed onto a portion of the motorway. Emergency equipment, such as a foam tender and a water tanker from the fire brigade, were dispatched to the location, and a teleporter and a prime mover were utilised to assist in cleaning up the area.

On social media, they stated, “Our Manitou teleporter has proven to be extremely effective in disposing of the flaming waste so it can be put out and cooled down”.
