“Tributes for Pedestrian Killed in Ranelagh Collision”

Last Sunday, a Dublin-based septuagenarian named Theresa Clarke tragically passed away after enduring a collision with a cyclist. The accident, which took place in Ranelagh on the night of June 4th, led to Mrs. Clarke’s hospitalisation. Initially treated for severe injuries at St Vincent’s Hospital, she was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

Mrs. Clarke, originally from Ballinrobe, County Mayo, had resided in Knocklyon and Bohernabreena, in Dublin. Renowned as the former headteacher of Scoil Aonghusa Snr, Balrothery, her life’s work did not go unnoticed. Survived by her spouse, Michael, three daughters – Elaine, Miriam, and Josephine, and grandchildren, her absence is visibly felt.

At the time of the accident, Mrs. Clarke was actively engaged in erecting election posters. Her dedication to the Fine Gael party is commemorated within her funeral arrangements. The family plans to hold an open house for mourners from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at her house. Mrs. Clarke’s final journey is set to St Ann’s Church, Bohernabreena for 10am mass, ahead of the burial in Bohernabreena cemetery on Thursday morning.

A touching tribute made on rip.ie outlines Mrs. Clarke as an “exceptionally wonderful and inspirational person”. For those who had the opportunity to work alongside her within the Home/School/Community Liaison programme (HSCL), she was a mentor, role model, and an ally. Above all, her thriving sense of humour and practical wisdom made her a cherished colleague. Her comprehensive approach towards her profession and earnest interest in serving her school community, co-workers, students and their families, rendered her a living legend in the eyes of many.
