Traffic in Italy: scooters and pedestrian crossings

This funny video on driving in Italy, and crossing the road, was filmed in Trieste which makes me laugh, because it’s not famous for its traffic as, say, driving in Rome or Naples.
Basically the trick in Italy is once you set foot on a pedestrian crossing, keep going.

Do not stop or attempt to dodge the vehicles yourself; they will (mostly) avoid you.
The dangers of living in Italy mostly involve day-to-day stuff, or subtle rules of behaviour at Italian social gatherings.
There was even an armoured tank and a scooter accident once, to encourage you into touring Italy by car…Check out our posts on learning Italian, how to survive an Italian dinner party and Italian traditions such as coffee for other insights on life in Italy.
