Top Two Sports on TV

Should the Republic of Ireland women’s football team manage to qualify for Euro 2025, it will mark yet another significant milestone following their involvement in last year’s Women’s World Cup Finals. Nine other countries have already booked their spots in the pinnacle tournament, leaving seven places up for grabs through play-offs in the coming weeks. The Georgian women’s football team is the first hurdle the Irish need to overcome, with the matches scheduled in Tbilisi on Friday and a return leg at Tallaght Stadium four days later. If victorious, the Republic of Ireland will face off against the winners of the Slovakia and Wales matches, home and away. The triumphant team will have a packed schedule in Switzerland come July, 2025.

This weekend sees a crucial UFC face-off in the United Arab Emirates, with undefeated featherweight champion Ilia Topuria squaring off against ex-champion Max Holloway. Given the fighters’ distinctive styles, an exciting spectacle is almost guaranteed for fans of the sport.

The sporting week beginning October 23rd will kick off with football matches in the Champions League on TNT Sports 4 and 5. Both games are at 8pm, with Juventus facing Stuttgart and Paris Saint-Germain going up against PSV Eindhoven.

The early hours of the following day, which falls on October 24th, will switch over to American basketball as the NBA season unfolds on TNT Sports 1. Games include Knicks visiting Celtics at 0.30am and Timberwolves clashing with Lakers at 3am.

This day will also be packed with more football action, including Champions League and Championship battles across several stations. The match line-up includes Brest against Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta versus Celtic, and Barcelona pitted against Bayern Munich, among others.

Things take an interesting turn the following day, opening with NBA games, including Bucks at 76ers and then it’s time for some serious golf on Sky Sports Golf; they are broadcasting the ZOZO Championship from 4am to 8am.

Cricket fans won’t be left out either; the 3rd Test, D1 Pakistan versus England will commence from 5.30am on Sky Sports Cricket. Alongside this, the Genesis Championship can be viewed from 4am to 9am on Sky Sports+.

Football action returns later on the same day, featuring Conference League and Europa League fixtures. Highlights include Rangers playing against FCSB at 8pm, while Tottenham face AZ at the same time. Both matches will be broadcasted on TNT Sports platforms.

You can catch the European Championship Darts on ITV 4 from 6pm to 10pm. The Europa League Soccer is featuring Fenerbahçe vs Man Utd at 8pm, screened on Premier Sports 1 and TNT Sports 2.

This October 25 (Friday), NBA airs at half past midnight, Spurs competing against Mavericks, and again at 3am for Thunder vs Nuggets on TNT Sports 3. Sky Sports NFL will telecast Vikings lock horns with Rams at 1:15 am.

For golf enthusiasts, catch the ZOZO Championship from 4am till 8am on Sky Sports Golf, and The Genesis Championship on Sky Sports+ from 4am till 9am. Sky Sports Cricket presents the 3rd Test, Day 2 of Pakistan vs England on air from 5:50am. Cheltenham Racing begins at 1:30 pm and ends at 4pm on UTV.
