“Three Must-Watch Sports Events This Week”

The world-renowned Paralympic event, brimming with various sports, is currently in full swing in Paris, with several honours still to be achieved. The final week will showcase a broad spectrum of sports – from blind football and boccia to para-archery and wheelchair tennis, as well as para powerlifting and seated volleyball. A significant number of Ireland’s team, made up of 35 members, will take part. The event will continue throughout the week, viewable on RTÉ and Channel 4.

In other sport news, the Irish women’s cricket team is preparing for their three one-day internationals against England, starting this weekend in Belfast. Following these matches, the team will relocate to Dublin’s Clontarf for two T20s. Currently, the team rides a wave of confidence following their recent 2-1 series victory over Sri Lanka last month. This event will be showcased on Saturday on TNT Sports.

Soccer fans will witness the onset of a brand-new era as Heimir Hallgrimsson takes over as the coach of the Republic of Ireland’s senior men’s team. This weekend serves as the commencement of his tenure, starting in Dublin. England also ushers in new leadership with former Republic of Ireland international player, Lee Carsley leading the Euro 2024 finalists in the Uefa Nations League match at Aviva Stadium. As for the beginnings of the week, Monday presents a range of sports. Cricket fans can watch the 2nd Test, D4 of Pakistan v Bangladesh shown on TNT Sports 1 from half past five in the morning, while Sky Sports Cricket will be airing the 2nd Test, D5 of England v Sri Lanka from just past ten in the morning. The Paralympic Games can be followed throughout the day on RTÉ 2 and Channel 4. Other televised sports include snooker, tennis, football, and GAA highlights. Tuesday continues with the 2nd Test, D5 of Pakistan v Bangladesh on TNT Sports 2 from half past five in the morning.

Sky Sports+ presents a boxing match between Naoya Inoue and TJ Doheny in Tokyo, featured from 7.30am. Paralympic Games are being shown on both RTÉ 2 and Channel 4, with view times staggered throughout the day. Showcasing from 10.15am to 4.15pm on ITV4 is Stage 1 of the Tour of Britain and on Eurosport 1 from 11.30am to 5pm is Stage 16 of the Vuelta a España, both of which relate to cycling. The Saudi Masters of Snooker is aired on Eurosport 2 from 2pm to 11pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Sky Sports Tennis displaying US Open from 3.30pm to 5am.

On Wednesday, the Paralympic Games continue on RTÉ 2 and Channel 4 with various broadcast timings. Among the highlights, the second stage of the Tour of Britain and the 17th stage of the Vuelta a España are featured on ITV4 and Eurosport 1, respectively.

Thursday keeps the momentum with more from the Paralympics on the two channels. The Tour of Britain moves to the third stage on ITV4, concurrently with the European Masters in golf shown on Sky Sports Golf and the 18th Stage of the Vuelta a España on Eurosport 1 along with the continuation of Saudi Masters on Eurosport 2.

The upcoming sports schedule will broadcast a variety of games and matches on multiple channels. On Sky Sports Tennis, the US Open will be streaming from 5pm to 4am. Further, from 7pm to 9pm, the Zurich Diamond League can be watched on BBC 2 & Virgin Media Three. The Nations League soccer match, Serbia v Spain, will air at 7.45pm on Virgin Media Two.

On Friday, the 6th of September, several sports events take place. The Ravens vs Chiefs NFL match begins at 1.20am on Sky Sports Action. Paralympic Games are scheduled to be telecast on RTÉ 2 and Channel 4 all day. The third Test, D1 between England and Sri Lanka will be available from 10am on Sky Sports Cricket.
