“Three Key Weekly Sports Events”

Cricket
The forthcoming months will be particularly hectic for both Irish men and women’s cricket teams. The men’s team are slated to compete against Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, as well as participate the imminent T20 World Cup come summer. In the latter part of the season, the women’s squad will take on Sri Lanka and England. The men’s international campaign begins with a clash against Pakistan on Friday in an inaugural T20 match at Clontarf. – TNT Sports, Friday.

Scottish Premier League
The race for the league title continues to heat up with just three matches left for each team. Celtic, standing three points ahead, are in direct competition with Rangers, with one of the fixtures being an all-important clash at Celtic Park. Previously in April, fans were treated to an exhilarating 3-3 draw at the Ibrox. In the women’s division, both teams equally share 72 points at the top of the League table with an upcoming face-off scheduled for Monday. -Sky Sports, Saturday.

Women’s FA Cup
For the first time since 2005, a team that isn’t Arsenal, Chelsea, or Manchester City is due to win the FA Cup trophy next weekend. Without a tradition of winning significant titles, this weekend’s final at Wembley Stadium provides a major opportunity for the Manchester United and Tottenham women’s sides. The Red Devils’ defence will be spearheaded by Republic of Ireland international, Aoife Mannion. -BBC, Sunday.
