Three Irishmen Charged in $1m Melbourne Heist

Three Irish nationals have been apprehended by the Australian police following an alleged series of high-level domestic thefts throughout Melbourne. Box Hill Divisional Response Unit’s detectives claim that these Irish individuals, who recently arrived in Australia within the last half-year, made away with property worth over $1 million. This stolen wealth includes cash, precious jewellery, and designer bags.

The apprehension of the men, aged 24, 25 and 19, took place at a lodging place close to Melbourne Airport by Box Hill sleuths last Thursday. Since all three couldn’t provide any established address, they were indicted with multiple accounts of home invasion, burglary and motor vehicle theft. All three suspects will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on the next day.

The Australian police hypothesise that over 60 domestic thefts happening across Blackburn, Doncaster, Narre Warren, Hampton Park Narre Warren, and Templestowe since the year started are attributable to these three men. Most of these alleged crimes took place while the homeowners were away. The accused allegedly utilised cleaning products to eliminate evidence, as per Victoria Police’s statement.

Additionally, three more Irish nationals got arrested on 18th March for alleged involvement in domestic burglaries taking place between January and March in Sunshine and Mill Park, Melbourne. Investigators have found more than $380,000 in cash and stolen designer jewellery from these locations.

Another set of three Irish men, aged 35, 28 and 21, were charged with several crimes including burglary, theft, criminal damage, and false imprisonment. On June 25th, they are expected to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendon Pollock, from the Box Hill divisional response, stressed that homes should be a safe haven, and the Victoria Police will not tolerate any form of invasion or theft. He added that they will continue to target crime syndicates regardless of their origin.
