“Three Detained in Dublin Firearm Seizure”

Three individuals have been apprehended for their suspected links to the discovery of a gun and ammunition in Finglas, Dublin. During a regular patrol in the area of Kippure Park, officers from the Divisional Drugs Unit of the Gardaí conducted a search on a vehicle, uncovering a potential pistol and ammunition. All three suspects, who were in their twenties, are currently held in Garda detention centres in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) under the authority of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Authorities confirmed that enquiries are still in progress, and the confiscated firearm and ammunition are due for further analysis.

Chief Superintendent Majella Armstrong expressed her appreciation to the officers responsible for the seizure, stating that this successful operation has secured yet another dangerous weapon off the streets. Armstrong highlighted that this operation was a product of active patrols in DMR West, showcasing the relentless efforts of Gardaí patrolling daily to uphold public safety.
