In an operation that took place in Co Louth on Monday, three individuals were taken into custody subsequent to the police confiscating narcotics valued at €768,000. A probe in Castlebellingham resulted in unearthing 28kg of cannabis herbs, estimated to be worth €580,000 and potential cannabis vegetation worth €80,000.
A separate search was performed in Dundalk, leading to the seizure of alleged cannabis herbs priced at €100,000 in addition to cannabis plants costing €8,000. The operation was carried out by the Louth Divisional Drugs Unit, Drogheda Detective Unit and officers from the Dundalk police station.

The detained trio, each in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, are presently under custody at a north-western police station as per the Drug Trafficking Act of 1996. Investigations are still actively being carried out.
