The Sounds of the Season Are Emerging

Dear Editor,

Could we, as loyal patrons, make a pledge to responsibly increase our spending, going beyond our budget and outdoing last year’s amount, providing that retail and hospitality industries consider delaying the start of Christmas music until the 12th of December?

The constant repetition of festive tunes like “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”, commencing as early as the first of November, becomes particularly annoying by mid-morning on that day.

Moreover, it’s worth debating that this relentless exposure to seasonal music might have a detrimental effect on the mental health of those working in these sectors. Sincerely yours,

Rossa Bunworth,
