Dear Sir/Madam,
I read with curiosity the news item “Deputy PM to investigate potential acquisition of Rory Gallagher’s Fender Stratocaster for the Nation” (News, July 16th). It prompted me to ponder – had I overlooked some development? Had all the sectors that are desperately in need of financial aid been addressed, perhaps by a financial saviour overnight to relieve their deficit? If not, the procurement of this guitar would represent, in my view, an unfortunate squandering of taxpayer’s money.
