Dear Editor,
I question the frequent use of sporting accomplishments mentioned as a form of defence in many violent crime cases. Whether they have prowess on the football field or trophy success, why would such sporting proficiency have any impact in lessening the severity of their crime? Is it implied that average chess players have a greater likelihood of committing future offences?
